AMD Phenom II X4 955 Ships in April

The Phenom II X4 955 will have a clock speeed of 3.2GHz, an 8MB L2 cache, dual channel DDR2/3 support, and a TDP of 125W.
The chip will also be a Black Edition CPU, shipping with an unlocked multiplier. As the current flagship model (AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition 3.0 GHz) chip was able to go to 4.0GHz on air with nothing special, the X4 955 should be breaking somewhere around 4.2 GHz with air cooling.

AMD Phenom II 995 can easily be overclocked to 4GHz using standard air cooling. At standard clock speed, the quad-core Phenom II 995 is working at a voltage of 1.25V. However, at 1.45V and a HyperTransport speed of 250MHz (compared to the 200MHz for the standard core speed), the upcoming Phenom II X4 can work at an impressive 4.2GHz.

After all, AMD is always the better choice for those who looking for great bang for bucks........
